Apprenticeships

Get SET Academy is an approved apprenticeship provider.

We work across England with a large and active network of businesses, so we have an excellent understanding of the skills that employers need and value. That means that once we have an understanding of your goals and personal strengths, we can steer you in the direction of the skills that will best support you in your journey into work and career progression.

We appreciate that everyone is different. That’s why we’ll always take the time to work with you to develop a personal development plan, and why we’ll aim to place you within organisations that are motivated to support you and give you appropriate, employment-focused training.

Work Experience

Finding work without being able to point to relevant career experience can be difficult. In fact, it can sometimes feel like an unwinnable battle. But that’s why work experience can be so valuable.
At Get SET, we work with hundreds of businesses, charities and social enterprises, many of which use us to help them find new apprentices and employees. Some of them will also host work experience placements. If they are looking out for people who are hard-working, committed and keen to succeed, a work placement is often a great way to identify the best candidates.
For you, this can be an important step on your path to a more rewarding career.

One-to-one Support

At Get SET Academy, we’re genuinely committed to helping people to succeed – to gain skills, to find work, to further their careers and to build better lives for themselves. That’s the goal that gets us out of bed in the morning.
However, there is no single route to success. So much depends on the individual: their work history, experience and education, their personal circumstances and where they want to go in life. That’s why we’ll always treat you as an individual, and why many of our support projects begin with a personal assessment.

Life Skills

For some people, the road to employment is a long one, and there are some important steps to be taken before you’re ready to start sending your CV to employers.
For many people, those first steps can include developing vital life skills. Those could relate to daily tasks around the house, using public transport or the internet, or taking advantage of local services covering things like healthcare, childcare or banking. Later on, it might be more focused on applying for jobs.
Wherever you are on your personal journey, we can help. We’ve helped countless people with life skills and confidence-building, so if you’d like help in taking your next steps, please get in touch.

Skills Support for the Unemployed

Skills Support for the Unemployed is a government-funded programme that helps people who are unemployed and who are struggling to find work because they lack key skills.
As one of the agencies delivering SSU support, Get SET Academy can help you to gain those vital skills. We’ll work with you to create a personal development plan – a route-map to take you from where you are now to where you want to be. We offer a wide range of courses that respond to the needs of real employers. In other words, we’ll help you to gain the skills that give you the best chance of securing the job you want.

Employability Training

Employability covers a wide range of topics but it will usually begin with a personal development plan.

Having taken account of your background, objectives and ambitions, we’ll help you to work to a plan that is realistic and achievable. Crucially, it will be focused on giving you the skills you need to find rewarding employment.
