Based in the North West of England, we deliver projects that:

  • Enhance individuals’ employability and work-readiness
  • Help people to build skills and advance their careers
  • Help entrepreneurs to grow their businesses
  • Help employers to find new staff and upskill their workforces

Those four categories encompass an extremely broad range of provision. That range can include anything from helping people to develop basic life skills and self-confidence, right through to providing business owners with leadership and management coaching, or tailored learning programmes for whole teams of employees.

Our Values

We believe very strongly that people of all kinds should have real opportunities to make their futures better. That’s why we’re fully committed to principles of equality and diversity. We’re a truly multicultural business, with a team that speaks seven languages, and we’re proud to be a Disability Confident employer.

We recognise that skills can be the key that helps people to break free from poverty and disadvantage, so an important part of our ethos is about making those skills as accessible and achievable as possible.

Our Purpose

At Get SET Academy, we’re genuinely committed to helping people to succeed – to gain skills, to find work, to further their careers and to build better lives for themselves.

Crucially, we aim to direct this support wherever it achieves the greatest impact. We’re therefore especially keen to work on projects that support disadvantaged groups and assist people who face particular challenges in building their careers. We have a strong track record of delivering projects that provide targeted employability support for such groups, including:

  • Young people (secondary school age and above)
  • People over 50
  • People with mobility/disability issues
  • People leaving the custodial system
  • People in low-paid work
  • People at risk of redundancy
  • People who are socially isolated
  • People returning to work after a long career break

Our focus is on enhancing people’s lives and part of this work also includes helping businesses to thrive. That, in turn, helps to create jobs, to reinvigorate local economies and to build new supply chains that support growth and new opportunities for all.

Our Mission

We deliver programmes focusing on – amongst other things – employability, apprenticeships, work placements, business start-up, process improvement, IT skills and social inclusion. We work across all sectors, and with a variety of funding bodies.

It’s our mission to extend this support in the years ahead; to help more people in more industries, and in more parts of the UK.

Our History

Get SET Academy was established in 2012, originally as a business support agency offering leadership coaching and mentoring for business owners. Through this work, we forged close links with an ever-expanding base of regional employers, comprising private companies, social enterprises, charities and start-up entrepreneurs.

As they grew, and as their skills and employment needs evolved, so did we. We enlarged our range of services, expanded our workforce and extended our geographical reach. Today, we are a well-recognised apprenticeship and training provider delivering bespoke and accredited courses to a diverse range of client groups across England.
